Description:
Present in 80% to 90% of SLE cases. High levels of anti-dsDNA is strongly associated with lupus and is often significantly increased during or just prior to a flare-up. Anti-dsDNA is sometimes present with diseases such as chronic hepatitis, primary biliary cirrhosis, infectious mononucleosis, and Mixed Connective Tissue Disease.
